For NAS devices, additional setup is required, as documented in this topic.\r\n\r\n## [Set up Taildrop on Synology](https://tailscale.com/docs/features/taildrop/how-to/set-up-taildrop-with-nas\\#set-up-taildrop-on-synology)\r\n\r\nIf you haven't already, [install Tailscale on your Synology device](https://tailscale.com/docs/integrations/synology#install-tailscale-on-dsm-manually).\r\n\r\nTo set up your Synology device to receive Taildrop files:\r\n\r\n01. In the Synology DSM web UI, go to **Main Menu** \\> **File Station**.\r\n\r\n02. Select **Create** and then select **Create New Shared Folder**.\r\n\r\n03. In the **Shared Folder Creation Wizard**, use `Taildrop` for the name of the folder.\r\n\r\n04. Set other values per your choice and continue through the wizard until you have created the `Taildrop` Shared Folder.\r\n\r\n05. In **File Station**, right-click the `Taildrop` folder and select **Properties**.\r\n\r\n06. Select **Permission**.\r\n\r\n07. Select the **tailscale** system user and select **Edit**. Note that the **tailscale** system user is shown with the name **tailscale**; it is not the name of a user in your tailnet.\r\n\r\n08.
